Medic Vision wins FDA nod for MRI software

Image reconstruction software developer Medic Vision Imaging Solutions has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its intelligent Quick MR (iQMR) image enhancement software.

Featuring iterative image reconstruction technology, iQMR is designed to enhance noisy MR images and increase signal-to-noise ratio, according to the vendor. As a result, users of MRI scanners of all makes and models can employ short MRI protocols and benefit from higher productivity, fewer repeat studies, and an improved patient experience, Medic Vision said.

The firm plans to showcase iQMR at the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) annual meeting next month in Vancouver, British Columbia. In addition, Dr. Lawrence Tanenbaum of imaging services provider RadNet will present a study at ASNR 2018 detailing how the software could reduce routine brain MRI scan times by 30% without adversely affecting image quality, Medic Vision said.
