SyntheticMR teams with MD Anderson

Swedish medical imaging software developer SyntheticMR has inked a research deal with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

The institution will study the utility of SyntheticMR's SyMRI Image and Neuro software for characterizing brain tumors, according to the firm. SyMRI Image produces multiple contrast images from a single three- to six-minute scan; images can be fine-tuned and additional contrasts can be recreated after the scan, SyntheticMR said.

SyMRI Neuro provides quantitative data and automatic segmentation of brain tissue to aid analysis and decision-making, according to the company. SyMRI is not available yet for clinical use in the U.S.
