FDA clears Calgary Scientific's ResolutionMD for Android

Advanced visualization software developer Calgary Scientific has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the use of its ResolutionMD software to diagnose medical images on Android-powered devices.

The FDA clearance, the first for a mobile image application on the Android platform, expands the availability of ResolutionMD. The software had initially received clearance in 2001 as a mobile diagnostic application on Apple's iPhone and iPad.
