December 5, 2017 -- NTT Data Services introduced an enterprise imaging analytics platform and announced a partnership with imaging artificial intelligence (AI) developer MD.ai at last week's RSNA 2017 meeting in Chicago.

The Unified Clinical Analytics and Management Platform is an enterprise imaging platform designed to integrate imaging analytics into the workflows of clinical teams and radiologists, according to the vendor. It can integrate a reporting tool with annotated images into any PACS workstation software, and it also drop images into a desktop engine that allows specific AI algorithms to be run locally without any additional hardware.

In addition, the platform can integrate reports into dictation software to provide an annotated image series, and it can integrate DICOM structured reports into the vendor-neutral archive and PACS, NTT Data Services said. The company has also integrated imaging research tools from algorithm providers such as Zebra Medical Vision and Imbio.

Meanwhile, the firm's new partnership with MD.ai will offer NTT Data Services customers access to semiautomated tools for imaging research, collaborative data annotation software, and web-based deployment of algorithms with the goal of facilitating the adoption of AI. MD.ai's software suite allows users to help develop anonymized datasets that can be used to validate imaging AI algorithms, according to NTT Data Services.

By participating in NTT Data Services' imaging research and advocate AI programs, healthcare organizations can share in the revenue stream for studies used in validation of AI algorithms, the company said. They can also gain early access to these deep-learning algorithms for image evaluation. Customers will be able to run a subset of algorithms entirely on the desktop and initiate analyses as part of their workflow, NTT Data Services said.
