In this talk, Korean researchers will share their framework for automatic classification of diffuse infiltrative lung disease on dual-energy CT studies.

Dual-energy CT is a promising imaging technology, enabling, for example, the simultaneous acquisition of CT images and iodine perfusion mapping of the lung. While the distribution of iodine has clinical value, it is labor intensive to delineate the disease area using a manual method, said presenter JangPyo Bae from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine in Seoul.

As a result, the researchers developed a framework to perform automatic classification of diffuse infiltrative lung disease.

Using a computerized classification method with texture analysis allows them to measure diffuse infiltrative lung disease quantitatively, Bae told "This method makes [it possible] to analyze the follow-up CT and the progress of disease."
