Digital x-ray developer Thales launched a new family of wireless flat-panel digital radiography (DR) detectors at RSNA 2016.

Called Pixium 3543 DR, the new line consists of cassette-sized portable detectors that enable more flexibility and workflow management. The design of the detector line was optimized to reduce total cost of ownership and bring high-end DR within reach for any OEM or systems integrator, according to Thales.

Support for wireless imaging makes the line more flexible, and the detectors support the near-field communication (NFC) protocol. The detectors are available with either cesium iodide or gadolinium oxysulfide scintillation materials.
