Advanced Data Systems (ADS) will introduce a new patient communications portal for its MedicsRIS software at RSNA 2013.

The portal will allow patients to contact an imaging center, access a full range of forms, and receive exam instructions and results, according to the vendor. When patients log on, the MedicsRIS portal presents them with an interface that can be personalized to the imaging center's parameters of use.

Patients can request an appointment, and prior to the visit, they can securely complete all necessary forms online, ADS said. Information is stored directly into the imaging center's MedicsRIS system.

Patients can also be provided with detailed, downloadable exam preparation instructions, and after the procedure, the MedicsRIS portal will make radiology reports available for download by referring physicians and any other authorized user, ADS said.
