The RSNA said that it has received 11,039 scientific and educational abstract submissions for its 2020 annual meeting.

The submissions came from researchers and educators in 75 countries and covered 17 radiology subspecialties, according to the society. The highest numbers of abstracts came from breast, chest, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neuroradiology, and physics topics. In a statement, RSNA Board Liaison for Education Dr. Matthew Mauro said that he was inspired to see more than 11,000 abstract submissions in the midst of a pandemic.

The RSNA said it's still proceeding at this time with planning for RSNA 2020 to be held November 29 to December 4 in Chicago. At the same time, it's also enhancing its virtual meeting by planning a program that can take place either in person or virtually, according to the society.
