GE advances training in Saudi Arabia

GE Healthcare has signed a definitive agreement to establish a healthcare skills training institute at King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) in Saudi Arabia.

The pact is part of a $1 billion commitment by GE to offer technical, clinical, and healthcare management courses in cooperation with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health's (MoH) strategic healthcare plan.

GE, MoH, and KFMC also plan to explore options to deliver certified intensive care unit courses and leadership programs for healthcare professionals, as well as to deploy online and classroom continuing medical education courses on CT, MR, x-ray, ultrasound, and radiology.

MoH is also collaborating with GE on the two-phased development of a population health and health service visualization and simulation model called Corvix Saudi. It is designed to simulate disease states and/or infrastructure expansion scenarios to inform decisions related to health services and infrastructure investment.
