Medstreaming debuts cardiology PACS, EMR

Healthcare IT vendor Medstreaming has introduced its integrated cardiovascular PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) software at this week's American College of Cardiology (ACC) annual scientific session in New Orleans.

The offering also includes its Web-based Cardiovascular Electronic Whiteboard software.

With the addition of these components to its cardiovascular information system platform, Medstreaming is claiming to be the first vendor to offer a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared PACS and electronic medical record certified for "meaningful use" under the U.S. government healthcare IT stimulus plan.

The firm recently completed its first installation of the Cardiovascular Electronic Whiteboard at ProHealth Care of Waukesha, WI.

In other ACC announcements, Medstreaming is showcasing several other components for the current version of its cardiovascular information system, including a Web-based data-mining engine.
