Matrox, Carestream announce collaboration

Display controller board provider Matrox Graphics of Montreal announced that Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, has selected its Matrox Xenia series controller boards to drive a variety of Carestream PACS and vendor-neutral multimodality mammography workstation installations.

This collaborative venture that is intended to improve workflow through use of the Matrox Xenia Series triple-monitor viewing platform features image resolution up to 8 megapixels with 1 GB of on-board memory with support from a single slot PCI Express board, including forward and backward compatibility with a range of monitors and projectors.

Carestream's mammography workstation provides diagnostic review of all breast imaging studies, including full-field digital mammography (FFDM), ultrasound, MR, computed radiography, and others in addition to general radiology exams. In the current environment, workflow may be impacted as radiologists read FFDM exams on vendor-specific proprietary workstations, then turn to other displays to review of other types of imaging studies.
