Varian to show new products at RSNA

Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, will introduce its new x-ray tube and flat-panel technology at the upcoming RSNA annual meeting in Chicago.

The new PaxScan 3024M flat-panel detector is designed for full-field digital mammography and features a compact design, incorporating a narrow edge and enhanced image-acquisition capabilities, to acquire images close to the chest wall with immediate results, according to Varian. The architecture is based on amorphous silicon design to allow rapid frame rates for advanced mammographic applications.

Varian also will showcase a line of mammography x-ray tubes designed to optimize the imaging and throughput performance capabilities of the panel.
