GE reports PACS/NM integration, new installs

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., reported progress at last week's Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting in Charlotte, NC, in integrating its PACS and nuclear medicine software.

The company said that it had integrated its Xeleris Suite for Nuclear Medicine into the GE Centricity PACS RA1000 workstation using the vendor's Open Desktop technology. Xeleris users can now perform image review on RA1000 workstations beyond the limitations of screen captures and raw data, including access to the Xeleris Myometrix and Emory Cardiac Toolbox cardiac analysis tools, as well as SPECT/CT and PET/CT image review. Nuclear medicine departments will also gain access to disaster recovery and business continuity functionality inherent in Centricity.

In other news, GE reported an installation of its Centricity RIS-IC Patient Self Service and Paperless Workflow software at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. The features are part of the company's Centricity RIS-IC version 10.6 software and include kiosks that enable patients to check themselves in for appointments, update medical history information, sign consent forms, and take care of co-payments.

GE also reported that Radiology and Imaging Specialists of Lakeland, FL, has implemented the company's Centricity Precision Reporting software, which is designed to reduce reporting turnaround time and reporting and transcription costs. Centricity Precision Reporting is embedded in Centricity RIS-IC.
