Senate holds healthcare reform meeting

The U.S. Senate Finance Committee held the first of three meetings to discuss healthcare reform on April 21, according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) of Reston, VA.

The discussion focused on reform of the payment system, the current shortage of primary care physicians, bundling of reimbursement payments, and treatment of chronic conditions, the ACR said.

The committee's next two meetings will be May 5 and May 14; topics for these meetings will be the expansion of healthcare coverage and the financing of healthcare reform, respectively, according to the ACR.
