QuadraMed taps Sunquest vet as interim chief exec

Healthcare IT firm QuadraMed of Reston, VA, has named James Peebles to the position of interim president and CEO, replacing Keith Hagen, who is stepping down for personal reasons.

Peebles has 40 years of experience in the healthcare information technology field, and in 1980 he co-founded healthcare IT firm Sunquest Information Systems of Tucson, AZ. He served as CEO at Sunquest and led the software design and development and sales departments. He was also founding director of the information systems department at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson.

In 1987 he co-founded MIDS, developer of the MIDAS+ system for tracking patient care and quality outcome management, primarily for acute care facilities. Peebles joined QuadraMed's board of directors in October 2004.

QuadraMed's board said it has started a formal search for a permanent CEO.
