(Booth 7762) Look for TeraRecon of San Mateo, CA, to leverage its RSNA appearance to highlight its Aquarius iNtuition platform, which brings workstation-class performance to thin-client PCs throughout the healthcare enterprise.

2007 11 05 15 44 31 706First introduced at the 2006 RSNA show, iNtuition is designed to provide the full functionality of an advanced Aquarius 3D workstation to standard PCs or PACS workstations. The software includes features such as support for dual-energy CT scanning, automatic anatomy identification and labeling, CT/PET fusion with automatic registration, fusion for blood-pooling contrast agents, and other features.

The system's AquariusAPS server preprocesses images to perform routine tasks and prepare a case for human interaction. A technologist or physician then reviews cases to validate its accuracy, which TeraRecon believes speeds up workflow.

At the 2007 RSNA show, TeraRecon will demonstrate the scalability of iNtuition by deploying a server cluster capable of rendering hundreds of thousands of CT slices concurrently. Data flow to multiple servers is managed with the company's AquariusGate scheduled routing technology, while the rendering load between the servers is managed such that the cluster behaves as one huge "virtual server," according to the company. This enables the software to deliver a uniform experience to physicians anywhere in the healthcare enterprise with a common patient list.
