TomTec to expand into MRI

Ultrasound visualization developer TomTec Imaging Systems is moving into MRI.

The Unterschleissheim, Germany-based firm is previewing its left ventricular (LV) analysis software for cardiac applications at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) annual meeting in New Orleans.

The 4D LV-Analysis MR application is based on TomTec's 4D LV-Analysis software for echocardiography, and uses MRI datasets to give doctors a functional analysis of the left ventricle. Results include volumes, ejection fraction, and a quantification of dyssynchrony.
