NAS revenues edge up, but loss widens in Q1

Strong gains in North American Scientific's radiation sources business segment were mostly offset by declines in its intensity-modulated radiation therapy/image-guided radiation therapy (IMRT/IGRT) business unit in its fiscal first quarter.

For the period (end-January 31), the Chatsworth, CA-based radiation therapy developer had revenues of $7.6 million, up slightly from the $7.5 million posted a year ago. The firm had a net loss of $3.2 million, compared with a net loss of $2.7 million in the fiscal first quarter of 2006.

In other developments, NAS said that it's on track to sell its first ClearPath breast brachytherapy products in the second quarter.
