Attendance drops slightly at RSNA 2006 show

A 2% drop in exhibitor attendees led to a slight overall decline in attendance at last week's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting in Chicago.

Through Friday, December 1, the RSNA reported total unaudited attendance of 61,294, down slightly compared with 61,565 in total unaudited attendance at the 2005 conference. Audited figures for the 2005 show indicate that it had 62,251 attendees; audited numbers for the 2006 edition are not yet available.

The number of professional attendees (physicians, students, etc.) stood at 27,138 as of the final count at this year's show, up 2% 26,696 for the 2005 meeting. However, the number of exhibitor attendees dropped by 2% as well, to 28,044 in 2006 from 28,763 in 2005.

The RSNA also reported 6,112 people attended the show registered as guests, essentially flat compared with the 6,106 guests registered in 2005.
