German officials clear Siemens' Diagnostic Products deal

Siemens Medical Solutions of Erlangen, Germany, has received approval from German regulators to acquire Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC) of Los Angeles.

The German Federal Cartel Office cleared Siemens to buy the designer and manufacturer of automated laboratory instrumentation and immunoassay systems for approximately $1.86 billion.

DPC shareholders are scheduled to vote on the proposed transaction on July 27.
