Bioscan displays NanoSPECT/CT animal imager

The highlight at Bioscan's Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) booth was NanoSPECT/CT, a system for dedicated animal studies.

NanoSPECT/CT is optimized for imaging technetium-99m and indium-111 studies, with spatial resolution of 0.5-0.8 mm, according to the Washington, DC, company. The system supports image overlay and can be used for applications including cardiac and oncology imaging.

Bioscan showed a prototype at the 2005 SNM show, and began shipping the unit in August with a list price of $380,000 to $670,000, depending on configuration. The company has installed 10 to 15 of the systems.
