Analogic gets FDA nod for wide-beam transducer

Medical imaging firm Analogic has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its wide-beam fetal ultrasound transducer.

Designed for use with Analogic's FetalGard Lite-NIBP and FetalGard Lite monitors, the single-crystal, wide-beam transducer features a smooth beam pattern with no nulls, for a consistent fetal heart rate signal, according to the Peabody, MA-based firm. The transducer is waterproof, and about the size of a U.S. silver dollar, Analogic said.
