2005 11 14 16 03 48 706 The 3-megapixel RadiForce R31 display features 10-bit color output, displaying 1,064,330,000 colors simultaneously, according to the Cypress, CA-based firm. The 20.8-inch display offers 2048 x 1536 native resolution, 170º viewing angles, and 400:1 contrast ratio.

The product is suitable for CT, MRI, PET, and 3D-rendering applications. Shipments are expected to begin in the U.S. in December, according to the company.

RadiForce G33 is a 3-megapixel monochrome LCD targeted at PACS, chest radiology, CT, MRI, and angiography applications. Its 13-bit lookup table produces a palette of 8,161 grayscale tones from which 4.096 (12 bits) can be displayed simultaneously. The product includes aperture modulation technology that allows a different area ratio for each subpixel, providing clearer contrast, according to the vendor.

The model also features a lifetime expectancy analyzer (LEA) function, which estimates the backlight lifetime, and a digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) function for optimum uniformity of the backlight's luminance.
