Cambridge Isotope completes facility expansion

Radiopharmaceutical developer Cambridge Isotope Laboratories has completed the expansion of its oxygen-18 (O-18) distillation facility at its site in Xenia, OH, according to the Andover, MA-based firm.

The expanded plant produces 250 kg per year of O-18 used for the production of FDG in the PET industry and in other medical research. The plant is expected to be fully compliant with the Food and Drug Administration’s current good manufacturing practices (CGMP) in the first quarter of 2004, Cambridge Isotope said.
