PACS firm Medasys forms U.S. unit

French PACS firm Medasys Digital Systems has formed a U.S. division, e.Merging Medical, to handle the company's relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors. The new company will be based in Twinsburg, OH, and is headed by Gary Enos, a medical imaging veteran with experience at Hitachi, Summit, and Raytheon.

Medasys develops image processing, display, and archive management software, and has recently begun moving into the market for enterprise-wide hospital information management software. The company plans to develop customized software for medical imaging OEMs.
