Colorado to host PACS workshop

A conference aimed at teaching radiologists and hospital information systems specialists about PACS and teleradiology systems will take place March 28 - April 1, 2000 in Breckenridge, CO. Sponsored by the radiology department of the Medical University of South Carolina, the seminar will show participants how to design PACS and teleradiology systems, analyze their cost, and deal with problems that can crop up when the systems are implemented.

Course director Dr. Jeremy W. R. Young, chairman of radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina, said the conference will be a hands-on experience that will allow participants to work directly with digital images on the systems -- and get complete answers to questions that arise during the sessions.

According to event sponsors, physicians participating in the conference will be eligible for up to 15 hours of Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Registration information is available by contacting conference coordinator Clydie Miller deBrux by telephone at 843-792-4267, or by e-mail at [email protected].
