Road to RSNA 2022: Imaging Informatics Preview

Our final stop on the Road to RSNA features a preview of Imaging Informatics content at RSNA 2022. Artificial intelligence (AI) may be the dominant theme at RSNA 2022, but there's more to imaging informatics than AI.

In Chicago, there will still be plenty of research and presentation on imaging informatics topics such as enterprise imaging, clinical decision support, multimedia radiology reporting, 3D printing, analytics, and augmented and virtual reality.

3D printing remains a popular area, and researchers will demonstrate, for example, that 3D-printed models are cost-effective and are being utilized in a variety of applications. Augmented reality also continues to show promise in medical imaging applications, such as helping to make CT exams less scary for pediatric patients and assisting in training, as well as in planning and conducting surgeries.

Of course, these are just a sample of the content planned for the meeting; many other scientific presentations, scientific posters, educational courses, and exhibits on imaging informatics topics also await those making the trip to the Windy City or attending virtually. What's more, the RSNA 3D Printing Special Interest Group is inviting attendees to show off their 3D-printed models at their booth. In addition, the RSNA will also host a 3D Printing Symposium on Thursday, December 1, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. CST.
