In this talk, researchers will describe how they identified and addressed challenges to integrating radiology artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms into their clinical workflow.

In this talk, researchers will describe how they identified and addressed challenges to integrating radiology artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms into their clinical workflow.

Although numerous healthcare institutions are developing and investigating AI algorithms, the process for translating these models into the clinical workflow isn’t as well understood, according to presenter Panagiotis Korfiatis, PhD, and colleagues from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute. The team developed an approach to analyzing the technical, operational, workflow, and regulatory challenges for implementing internally developed AI algorithms.

“Understanding these challenges can help the leadership team define the scope and identify gaps that must be addressed to achieve the strategic goals and create AI that can benefit patients,” the authors wrote in their abstract.

What did they find and how did they overcome these hurdles? Stop by this Monday morning presentation to learn more.
