Omega launches new x-ray system for cardiology

Omega Medical Imaging has released Soteria.AI, an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled x-ray system for interventional cardiology.

The C-arm-based system is designed to significantly lower radiation dose by utilizing an AI-based region of interest (ROI) to drive a secondary collimator, according to the vendor. It also features image processing techniques, the company said.

Omega is also highlighting Soteria.AI's design, which it says can provide projections and patient access similar to ceiling-mounted systems. Soteria.AI has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
