In 2021, Carestream Health was awarded 45 new patents for imaging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) and digital radiography.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded 23 of the patents, and the other 22 patents were received from countries in Europe and Asia.

Some of the patents Carestream received included the following:

New medical image capture technologies with AI that help remove undesired bony structures from x-ray images
Technology advances in image capture that automate positioning of the x-ray source based on the exam
X-ray detectors with stepped edges that fit together and be used for long-length imaging
