The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) has issued a set of practice standards regarding the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare applications.

The AI Standards of Practice provides a risk-management framework designed for the safe implementation of AI in radiology. The standards allow the radiology community to create efficient and accessible healthcare systems while improving patient outcomes, according to RANZCR president Dr. Lance Lawler.

The standards can be found on the RANZCR website. They further the organization's thought leadership on the safe and ethical role of AI in radiology; RANZCR previously released a corresponding set of ethical principles for AI released in 2019.
