The RSNA has partnered with the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) on the online National Imaging Informatics Course -- Radiology (NIIC-RAD).

NIIC-RAD Term 1 will be held September 28 through October 2. The course is designed to teach radiology residents the fundamentals of imaging informatics, according to the societies.

The NIIC-RAD course was initially developed four years ago to introduce fourth-year radiology residents to the fundamentals of imaging informatics. The intention was to emphasize practical concepts and knowledge, but now the course is open to nonresident participants, as well as the international community.

NIIC-RAD will cover the basics of clinical workflow, hardware and software requirements, standards, and patient-centered radiology, in addition to topics like machine learning, data science, and 3D printing.

Faculty members come from all over the world and are experts in the field of imaging informatics, the societies said.

The upcoming course will consist of live lectures, small group discussions, and content that can be reviewed before or after the live sessions. There are pre- and postcourse assessments as well as homework assignments.

To register, visit SIIM's website.
