Advanced visualization and artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Ziosoft has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its CT Dual kV image analysis software for dual-energy CT studies.

Available on Ziosoft's flagship Ziostation2 image processing platform, CT Dual kV can generate multi-kV blended, subtraction, virtual noncontrast, and iodine map images and then save the results in a new image series for analysis, according to the vendor. The software can create masks to remove bone and other visual obstructions from the CT studies, enabling measurements of Hounsfield unit attenuation factors to determine material decomposition, Ziosoft said.

Other features include graphical histograms for viewing the desired energy level and extracting objects, as well as the ability to specify regions of interest directly on the graph and to save mask information, the company said. The software can be used with CT scanners from any vendor, Ziosoft said.
