Medical technology company Nanox has signed a distribution deal worth $48 million (42.4 million euros) with local partners to bring its digital x-ray systems to Russia and Belarus.

Under the terms of the initial three-year-agreement, the companies will collaborate on deploying and operating 600 Nanox ARC and Nanox Cloud systems pending receipt of regulatory approvals and testing clearance. The distribution partners have agreed to pay a minimum service fee per year to Nanox.

The Nanox systems were designed to be deployed in rural areas and can support 2D x-ray and digital tomosynthesis. Nanox imaging services will be provided on a pay-per-scan business model and located in both major cities and remote areas, according to the company.

Nanox noted the deal furthers its corporate goal of providing global coverage in five years, including to regions with no access to medical imaging.
