The RS85 Prestige, which is not yet available for sale in the U.S., builds on the RS85 ultrasound system. It comes with new imaging architecture and value-added features.

Integrated into the system is Crystal Architecture, which combines the CrystalBeam beamformer and the CrystalPure imaging engine with the S-Vue transducer. CrystalBeam is a new beamforming technology that delivers high-quality image resolution and increased uniformity of images. CrystalPure is Samsung's latest ultrasound imaging software with enhanced 2D image processing and color signal processing.

Samsung also unveiled the following value-added features:

  • MV-Flow with LumiFlow offers a detailed view of blood flow in relation to the surrounding tissues with enhanced spatial and temporal resolutions and provides 3D visualization with continuous and 3D-like vascular images.
  • ShadowHDR provides a shadow-suppressed image that is useful in capturing highly attenuated regions behind bony structures.
  • PureVision is an image-processing function that produces clear images with uniformity by performing speckle noise suppression and edge enhancement on B-mode.

In terms of DR, Samsung is showcasing its premium ceiling x-ray GC85A and mobile x-ray GM85, which have been granted ATO (authority to operate) for the risk management framework program set forth by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for a high level of cybersecurity regulations, while also exhibiting its new detector lineup.

Auto Lung Nodule Detection (ALND) is an artificial intelligence-based computer-aided detection software used to identify and detect lung nodules. It is designed to aid the physician in reviewing chest anteroposterior radiographs of adults. The new ALND feature has the CE Mark and is currently available for sale in Europe and Korea.

Also at RSNA 2019 are Samsung's mobile CT systems, BodyTom Elite and OmniTom, that can be used at the point of care, reducing response time by the medical team during emergencies, such as stroke, and improving patient outcomes, according to the company.
