Cardiac MRI artificial intelligence (AI) software developer HeartVista has garnered U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its One Click MRI AI acquisition software.

Designed to enhance the consistency and productivity of cardiac MRI exams, the software can prescribe the standard cardiac MRI views with one click and in as few as 10 seconds, according to the vendor. Continued imaging is then provided via an automated process.

HeartVista's artifact detection neural network identifies when image quality is below an acceptable threshold, prompting the operator to reacquire the images in question if desired, the company said. In addition, AI assistance optimizes the inversion time prior to the myocardial delayed-enhancement acquisition, according to HeartVista.

The software also includes a 4D measurement application, which uses non-Cartesian, volumetric imaging acquisition to generate images in a fraction of the time traditionally needed for cardiac MRI, the company said. What's more, the cardiac package also performs preliminary measurements of left ventricular function, including ejection fraction, left ventricular volumes, and mass, HeartVista said.
