Ezra brings full-body MRI screening to Calif.

Cancer screening startup Ezra has teamed with imaging services provider RadNet to launch its direct-to-consumer full-body MRI cancer screening program at eight new locations in California, marking the firm's expansion beyond its initial installed base in New York and New Jersey.

The eight centers in San Francisco and Los Angeles will offer Ezra's full-body MRI scan, which is designed to detect cancer and precancerous lesions in up to 13 organs in women and 11 for men, according to Ezra. It also identifies actionable disease states such as aneurysms, polyps, cysts, and more, according to the firm.

Ezra noted that its lung and breast protocols use various imaging modalities and are offered to high-risk individuals. The company is also developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to assist radiologists and plans to submit for U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance in the second half of 2019.
