Sonoscanner previews latest U-Lite unit at RSNA

French portable ultrasound developer Sonoscanner is offering hands-on workshops as demonstrations for the latest version of its U-Lite tablet-sized ultrasound unit at RSNA 2018 in Chicago.

The new, fifth-generation model is a full-featured, digital auto-optimizing system with 11 interchangeable transducers for use in all conventional clinical uses. The model currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has six probes, and an additional five probes will be approved by the agency in 2019, according to the company.

The new U-Lite on display has an integrated digital manager for continuous optimization of pulse contours, image reconstruction, and feature-enhancing signal processing, Sonoscanner said.

RSNA 2018 attendees may try the unit out during six hands-on workshops at the meeting focused on particular clinical areas, including musculoskeletal, breast, and interventional imaging.
