QView to highlight ABUS system at RSNA 2018

Computer-aided detection (CAD) software developer QView Medical plans to highlight QVCAD, an artificial intelligence system for automated breast ultrasound (ABUS), at the upcoming RSNA meeting.

The company has completed its first installation of QVCAD at Northern Arizona Healthcare, in a joint installation with GE Healthcare's Invenia ABUS system. QVCAD identifies suspicious areas of breast tissue that have characteristics similar to breast lesions, and it provides synthetic 2D images of the six volumetric datasets that are part of a standard ABUS exam, the company said.

QVCAD has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has also received the CE Mark.
