ASRT announces recipients of life member, fellow status

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) will grant life member or fellow status to several of its members at the upcoming ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting in Las Vegas.

The newest life member inductee will be Sharon Wartenbee, a senior diagnostic and bone densitometry technologist at Avera Medical Group McGreevy in Sioux Falls, SD. Wartenbee is currently a member of the ASRT Practice Standards Council and is on the board of directors representing the Americas for the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists. She will be the 34th member of the ASRT to be granted life member status.

Melissa Jackowski and Tricia Leggett will be named as ASRT fellows. Jackowski is a competency management development specialist at Siemens Healthineers. She has been a member of the ASRT since 1998 and is the current president-elect of the society.

Leggett has been a member of the ASRT since 1988, and she was on the society's radiologic technology editorial review board for a decade as well as part of the board of directors of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists. She currently serves as director of instructional design and technology for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
