Philips signs Middle East EMR deal

Royal Philips, the parent company of Philips Healthcare, has signed a 10-year agreement with VPS Healthcare for Philips' Tasy electronic medical record (EMR).

The Middle East healthcare provider plans to install the Tasy EMR in 18 hospitals and clinics throughout the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and India, as VPS Healthcare moves from multiple IT platforms to a single integrated EMR to manage all clinical and logistical processes.

VPS Healthcare operates 22 hospitals and more than 125 health clinics across the Middle East, backed by 13,000 employees and a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Dubai.
