ACR outreach group to focus on patient-centered care

The American College of Radiology (ACR) said that its newly formed Outreach Committee plans to focus on encouraging radiology professionals to engage in patient-centered care.

The new committee is one of four formed under ACR's Commission on Patient- and Family-Centered Care, the college said. Its leader is Dr. James Rawson of Augusta University in Georgia, while the committee's co-chair is Dr. Lynn Fordham of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.

Committee members will be involved with ACR's Radiology Support, Communication, and Alignment Network (R-SCAN), as well as its annual meeting to be held in May in Washington, DC. The group will also develop a member toolkit that encourages patient collaboration, according to ACR.
