Shine gets approval recommendation for isotope facility

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has recommended approval of a construction permit for Shine Medical Technologies' medical isotope facility, according to the firm.

NRC completed its safety and environmental reviews and recommended approval of a construction permit for the Shine facility, making it the first U.S. medical isotope producer to have reached this stage of the NRC permitting process since the 1960s, according to Shine.

Shine now enters the final stage of the construction permitting process, which includes a hearing with NRC commissioners.
