PenRad expands into healthcare informatics

Mammography information systems developer PenRad Technologies is expanding beyond breast imaging, the company announced at RSNA 2013 in Chicago.

PenRad is venturing into healthcare informatics and featuring a range of new products at the meeting. Highlights include zero-footprint multiplatform technology, including tablets, goal-oriented ICD10 and SNOMED coding, a controlled natural language engine, CT lung nodule tracking, and 3D visualization from 2D ultrasound scans of the carotid lumen.

PenRad President and CEO Greg Gustafson said the company's clients requested it apply its knowledge to other healthcare disciplines.
