FDA approves Image Gently pediatric fluoro modules

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved three new pediatric fluoroscopy educational modules in the Image Gently program.

The modules were developed through collaboration between Image Gently, the Society for Pediatric Radiology, and the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging. Available as a free resource for radiologic technologists, "Image Gently: Enhancing Radiation Protection in Pediatric Fluoroscopy" offers practice-based information and instruction on how to reduce radiation exposure during pediatric fluoroscopy imaging, Image Gently said.

The modules are available at the Image Gently website and cover enhancing radiation protection, managing dose during exams, and managing dose and possible tissue effects after procedures, Image Gently said. Radiologists and medical imaging physicists can also benefit from the modules.
