IMRIS, Siemens ink deal on intraoperative CT

Image-guided therapy developer IMRIS and Siemens Healthcare have inked a new agreement to collaborate on marketing intraoperative CT scanners.

Under terms of the agreement, IMRIS will use Siemens' 64-slice Somatom Definition AS scanner in its Visius iCT unit, the companies said. The two firms will work together to coordinate sales efforts of the device.

IMRIS received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for Visius iCT in July and has sold systems to three neuroscience centers in the eastern U.S.
