Radiologist launches dose-tracking app

A New York radiologist has developed a radiation dose-tracking app for patients that is now available on iTunes.

Dr. Stacey Funt developed My Imaging Records to help individuals keep track of all medical and dental imaging procedures for themselves and their family. The app also includes an educational component, with basic information on radiation, tips for reducing exposure, and links to additional websites.

Users can manually enter data on radiation dose into the app; an upgraded version of the app available for 99¢ enables users to take a photo of the official radiology report or upload the report from their computer.
