Fischer vets aim to revive company

Less than a year after mammography and x-ray vendor Fischer Imaging filed Chapter 11, a group of company veterans is looking to revive the firm's brand.

Fischer Imaging founder Kinney Johnson and former CEO and chairman Morgan Nields are behind the newly formed Fischer Medical Technologies (FMT), which has acquired all the x-ray-related business assets of Denver-based Fischer Imaging.

FMT was created for the purpose of continuing Fischer Imaging's product lines and presence in the diagnostic x-ray imaging market, according to the firm.

Ron Shores has been named president of FMT and is chartered with getting the Fischer product lines back into production at its manufacturing plant in Denver.
