NAS revenues surge in first quarter

North American Scientific turned in strong results for its first quarter (end-January 31). For the period, the Chatsworth, CA-based firm turned in revenues of $4 million, up 65% compared with the $2.4 million reported in the same quarter last year. Net income was $1.2 million, compared with $510,000 in 1999. Looking ahead, NAS expects that growing market demand for the treatment of prostate cancer with brachytherapy will fuel sales of its iodine-125 and palladium-103 seeds.
