January 3, 2022 -- Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has won an installation contract for its Proteus One proton therapy system with an Arkansas facility.

The company will install Proteus One at Proton International Arkansas, which is a collaboration between Proton International, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (also in Little Rock), Baptist Health, and Arkansas Children's -- all located in Little Rock.

The system will be located in the university's radiation oncology center, which is under construction, IBA said. The deal includes a 10-year operation and maintenance agreement, according to the firm. Proton International expects to begin treating patients in 2023.
